How The Actual Insight Of Bengalies Before And During The Durga Puja ?????

How are you ??? We are fine..Do you know that in India now this is the time of so many festivals...now within few days Ganesh Chaturthi is coming and after few days later our big festival Duga Puja will come...
Generally it happens during September end or the October when the spring starts...the blue clear sky with lots of white cloud floates on the sky like pure white cotton..and dhaker aoaj ( sound of band) with its own rhythm has been mixed so beautifully with the nature like peacock is dancing in his own joy in rain .This is the very special romantic time for unmarried one ..most of the proposal can be accepted in this time..and the full day still early morning all couple,pair enjoy of visiting pandals and spending time together..but many relationship can be made in this time and goes to end when ma Durga goes to her sasural( husband's house)..it's sometime become infatuation...but it is hilighted that this is the most romantic time for all bengalies
This time all friends,family come to involve in get-together...all do fun,hang out with friends, spending time with family,...and all we do by sitting the hole day in Puja mandap ....we never get tired... teenagers discuss about their all dresses when ,where to wear..and how it would be looking great,lovely !!!! Most of the young teenager girls are interested on this topic..they always look forward for new hangout or realationship...
By sitting and spending time when they get little bored that time having bhog prasad ( a devotional offering made to God which is later shared among all devotees)of ma Durga make them again active ....after having bhog most of the beauty conscious girl or women go for a nap to be looked more fresh for the evening...even I also did the same when I was teenager...
..This is the biggest festival for Bengalies.. the inside ,chater,the romanticism,sharing, accepting different cultures ,recitation of Tagore Rabindranath's poem,singing his immortal song and dancing in those rhythm.. invite of folk artists and preparation of the program ...announcing in the mike "testing testing 1, 2,3 Hello" these all are enhanced with us with this festival ..we have been born to be feel bengali .... that is why we always eagerly waiting for this festival...
In West Bengal it is celebrated grandly...and most of the school,colleges are closed due to this Puja..offices are also closed five days on this Puja ..
Kumartuli Park ,Ahritola,Telengabagan,Dum Dum Park, Mohammad Ali Park,Bagbazar , Santhosh Mitra Square, Jodhpur Park ,Ekdalia Evergreen,Singhi Park,Naktala Udayan Sangha, Babu Bagan, Suruchi Sangho etc are the top most ,award winning pujas in kolkata..if you are planning to visit Kolkata during this time then please book your tickets before 4 months of the departure and must visit these places...from lighting to food , fashion everywhere you can find bengali beauty...the essence of Bengal...
Really I miss Kolkata when I remember those of the days of Durga Puja in Kolkata...few days back my mother was telling me that all the Puja pandals are decorating in new look...bamboos ,rope ,decorating items have come by Lori(truck) and they are piling up all the things beside the road or field...all Puja samiti ( puja association/society)are taking 'chada' ( donation)for the puja...
All people are busy in shopping from indoor to outdoor everywhere are becoming decorated in new look...it seems like they are also enjoying coming Puja with us ..some people are busy in making new gold jewellery ....or fashionable dresses ,sarees,clothes .....
In this time most of the boutiques are becoming most profitable business for owners itself...full city is crowded....and road side food stalls are planning how to get out more profit from their stall during Puja by increasing price and decreasing quality...
Gariahat, New market ,Hatibagan, Canning Street ,Bardwan Market all are famous most fashionable market for buying trendy clothes...but here prices are too high...but if you do shopping from road stalls then it's quite cheap and affordable for middle class...
And here I should mention that without food our Puja is incomplete...that is why from biriyani ,moglai to Chinese, from Southindian to North Indian, from continental,italian to Indian...every food are available in our Puja... varieties of nonveg items and sweets are available in this Puja... actually we believe that food is not about gulping it's a culture where from every part of India and out of india's food are introduced to be a part of our culture...so we enjoyh these five days by having lots more variety of food without any worry ,tension and consume nicely....because when we celebrate Puja we generally dressed up grandly and go some restaurant with lots more friends,family and do fun together....
From 10 years I am not in Kolkata and that's why every time I miss Kolkata so much.... specially in this occasion...yes my many friends go during this time to Kolkata...but here for me it is not possible because if I go school will not give too much leave for us... because here only 8 days leaves are granted for puja...😂😂😂
But here in Bangalore I do whatever I did in Kolkata..I fully enjoy my Puja with traditional dresses,food and Begali adda( culture) with spicy gossips...
Here in this Puja I wear or look in real bengali woman...by wearing Sakha Pola(bangles), Sindoor (red colour on head as a symbol of marriage),a Red big round shape Bindi on forehead, Saree ,Red Lipstick which is my all time favourite, and Gold Jewellery...
Eventhough my husband trying to convince me by wearing other dresses....yes those also I wear...I enjoy, breath ,the essence of the puja .
Here most of the bengalies speak in mixed language means bengali and English..even prist also speaks english...and children also do the same ..if their parents are not able to speak bengali then how they will be !!!! But I prefer a pure bengali language minimum in these days to respect my mother tongue...and we do and try to maintain but from school they force us to speak always English at home but generally I don't like...that is why my kid is really flexible in Bengali...
Actually Durga Puja is a world wide famous festival for everyone that is why we know that how many months take to build a Puja mandap in Kolkata...because here all Puja are decorated in new new current or old themes...
Altogether 5 days we celebrate Durga Puja....Sashti,Saptami,Ashtomi,Nabomi,Bijoy dasami or Dasera...
North ,South in every part of Kolkata is getting dressed in new theme ,look, may be traditional or modern...and so many competition are held on in these days ..sankho pratijogita , musical chair, quiz, fashion show , cooking competition , balancing of handi putting on head without touching and has to run, ......lots more pratijogita or competition ....
In this Puja what is my plan and what I will do let it be surprise !!!!! I will share with you all my updates buddy !!!
Actually this Puja purpose is not only about Celebration but also helping to poor people and children from these Puja samiti and all .. because this puja may can bring happiness ,joy when our backyard people also can be happy by getting there minimum needs ,food,shelter, clothes, education little care and all...
So this puja is not only celebration but also awarness of social ,economy. So my request to everyone who are spending little in this puja is please help the poor people , children by giving little donation in your ward or in any ENGEO.Because this is the time to lighten their home still those are in dark.
